Newark native, Griselle Ponce, is a dynamic entrepreneur and accomplished individual with a multifaceted background in dance, choreography, acting, and motivational speaking. Her impressive career has taken her to perform in some of the largest stages worldwide, including the honor to perform for President Barack Obama, a testament to her exceptional talent. Griselle has traveled the world extensively as an ambassador of Latin music and dance. Her choreographies have been featured in films and TV shows, and have also received nominations for the prestigious Chita Rivera Award and World Choreography Awards, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the world of dance. Currently, Her commitment to community service extends to her roles as President of the Puerto Rican Day Parade, Inc. for a second term. Ponce has been appointed a Commissioner for the Hispanic Commission in the City of Newark by Mayor Ras J. Baraka, and is a member of the advisory board for NJPAC and the Center for Excellence for Latino Health at Clara Maass Medical Center. Throughout her career, Griselle has always been a voice and advocate for her community. Her commitment to philanthropy and empowering others has driven her to take on leadership roles and mentoring positions. Griselle has been at the forefront of an anti-violence campaign for the youth, successfully producing for two consecutive years an anti-bullying march in the city of Newark, with the support of the Newark Board of Education. Griselle brings a unique blend of artistry, passion, and leadership. She believes in the power of community, cultural identity, and the importance of giving back. Her life story inspires resilience, showcasing the power of dedication, perseverance, and community involvement.
A distinguished real estate professional licensed as a Broker in New Jersey, Florida, and Puerto Rico, and as a Mortgage Loan Officer in New Jersey and Florida. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Human Resources Management from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, they began their career at Bank of America in Newark, NJ, and later served as Senior Collections Manager for a Fortune 500 Spanish company in San Juan, PR, where they established new collections departments for microfinance subsidiaries.
After relocating to New Jersey to pursue entrepreneurial ventures and focus on family, they engaged in small businesses and co-founded an investment property business. Their passion for real estate led them to work with prominent agencies before founding Realty Xpress Group in Belleville, NJ.
Specializing in residential, multi-family, rental, and commercial real estate, they draw upon extensive experience in banking, accounting, and sales. Actively involved in community service, they contribute to local non-profits and serve as Treasurer of the Puerto Rican Day Parade of Newark, NJ. Their professionalism and dedication to building relationships define their approach to real estate.
Oscar has proudly given over 32 years of service at the Essex County Registers Office. He currently works as a Supervisor in the Juan M. Rivera Administration. He has worked with the Northward Democrats in various campaigns since 2021 under Chairman Samuel Gonzalez. Oscar is currently working as district leader in Bloomfield Township with the Jenny Mundell Campaign. Born and raised in Newark, with family hailing from Lares, Puerto Rico.

Evelyn (Lulu) Andino, born in Puerto Rico with proud Puerto Rican roots, embodies the vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage of La Isla del Encanto. Raised in the heart of Newark, NJ, she is a dedicated member of Newark's Puerto Rican Day Parade (PRDP, INC-Newark), where she proudly carries the torch of her rich heritage. As the Secretary of PRDP, INC-Newark., Evelyn fosters a deep connection with her roots, joyfully sharing the sounds, flavors, and stories of Puerto Rico throughout the year and during the annual parade.
With over 35 years of community experience, Evelyn actively promotes Puerto Rican culture through dance, music, and education. She is known for her caring and compassionate nature, strong work ethic, and hands-on teamwork approach. Passionate about making a difference, Evelyn is an interior designer by trade, with a keen eye for photography, capturing the beauty of nature and fine art. She enjoys spending time with family and going on adventures with her fur-baby. Evelyn is grateful for the moments spend with friends and family and finds inspiration in serving God through all she does.
Julio Aponte III is a dedicated public servant, community advocate, and military veteran with 12 years of service in the U.S. Navy, where he rose to First Class Petty Officer. He proudly served at Camp David during President Obama’s administration. Currently, Julio is a Supervisor for the Water Commission, ensuring water delivery to over 70,000 residents.
A proud Puerto Rican, Julio actively supports his community through organizations like the Hispanic American Foundation of Essex County Inc. and Hispanics for Progress. He is deeply committed to veterans, serving with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and more.
Julio’s dedication is recognized through awards such as Essex County Veteran of the Year and the Presidential Service Badge.

Kenia, a Newark, NJ native of Puerto Rican descent, a mother of seven, educator, entrepreneur, and community advocate. She holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a Mathematics emphasis and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration, along with multiple certifications in NJ.
Kenia has taught grades K-10 across New Jersey, Colorado, and Florida, including Bilingual Education and core subjects. Currently, she serves as a Bilingual Literacy Instructional Leader, coaching teachers and school leaders. She writes content and facilitates professional development.
In addition to her educational work, Kenia co-chairs Infant Mental Health for Advocates for Children and Families of NJ (ACNJ) and actively advocates for families through her nonprofit, Latinos Unidos Civic Association. In 2023, she represented NJ in Washington, D.C., speaking to Congress about Paid Family Leave and Health Insurance.
