On October 6, 2026 the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rican Day Parade, Inc. (PRDP) adopted amendments to the organization’s bylaws to strengthen its governance, promote organizational stability, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the PRDP and its cultural celebrations. These amendments to our bylaws continued the process of updating and restructuring our governance structures as a not-for-profit tax-exempt corporation with a self-sustaining Board. The community election process has been replaced with a structure in which the Board of Directors is responsible for selecting the organization’s president and all Board members at its annual meeting.
We acknowledge and appreciate everyone who has participated in past elections and contributed to the Parade’s legacy. The Board is confident that our new bylaws will allow us to embark on a new path in 2027 for the PRDP, ensuring the strengthening of our non-profit corporation.
As we prepare for the challenges of 2027, we recognize the important role our community has played throughout the Parade’s history and remain committed to preserving opportunities for meaningful participation and involvement. We welcome individuals who share our mission and dedication to community service to express their interest in being considered for the Board of Directors. While our governance structure is evolving, our mission and commitment to the Puerto Rican community remain unchanged. Our history unites us. Our culture inspires us. Our commitment to the community moves us forward,
